who hijack our education opportunity? Even worse, it is becoming a honor to be hijacked for some parents. Fact 1: On the NO.699 bus, a mother and his daughter sat together, the mother's arm hanging a bag with a signature of Giant training.The daughter was having lunch, while her mother kept asking questions with a book titled International Mathematical Olympiads. Fact 2: The mother and daughter was hurrying to a middle school for training. Because of long distance and tight time, the daughter had to enjoy her lunch at bus every saturday. | This phenonmenon is very common just in our country. Our educational model and the our normally public opinion result in this. Yesterday, i heard from news, that students studing in a very famous high school were admittet without examination to Qinghua and Peking university. The news also showed that these two students abtained a lot of awards in all kinds of national competition, like Math Olympiads. the regulation of education and popular opinion about education contribute the increasing of the phenonmenon you had mentioned above. |

I have to blame the present parents! They don't know how to educate their children. Training is nothing if it is only for getting more Olympic prizes. Education's goal is to make every child be a qualified person. Children's interests should be encouraged and cultivated. Only doing what we are interested in could we be happy and make achievements. If I have children, I would let them develop their interests freely. And if possible, I allow them to be engaged in courses that's very different from our traditional education. Children should have imagination, creativity and ambition. We shouldn't put them into various "prisons". [ Last edited by xia_chong on 2010-11-30 at 09:50 ] |
