St. Ignatius Cathedral
Located in the bustling Xujiahui district, St. Ignatius Cathedral is the largest cathedral in the city. Built in 1910 by the French Shanghai Construction Company, it was once regarded as the most marvelous Catholic Church in the far East. Measuring 80 meters high, it is built in Gothic style. There are two 50-meter tall bell towers on its northern and southern edges. It can hold 2,500 worshippers.
Chinese name: Xujiahui Tianzhu Jiaotang (徐家汇天主教堂)

Shanghai Community Church
Built in 1925, Shanghai Community Church is the largest Christian Church in the city. It was built to accommodate the Americans who set their homes on Hengshan Road. It is designed in the modern Gothic style and used wood and brick as the main architecture materials. Its choir is famous for the high standard. The green scenery along the road makes it a favorable residential place of foreign community. It can accommodate 2,000 worshippers.
Chinese name: Guoji Libaitang (国际礼拜堂)

Christ the King Church
Built in 1928, Christ the King Church officially became an English-speaking foreign Catholic Church in 1933. There were 1,700 followers at the time of its construction. In 1961, the number of believers reached 2,309. It was closed during the Cultural Revolution and reopened after it moved to Julu Road on April 25, 1993.
Chinese name: Jun Wang Tang (君王堂)

Moore Memorial Church (Mu En Tang)
Established in 1887, Moore Memorial Church was originally named the Moore Church in memory of the American donator Moore. In 1958, Christians of various denominational divisions worshiped there together and formally named it Mu'en. It is made of wood and bricks in Gothic style. The balusters in the balcony, rectangle pillars in the hall, and the bema are decorated with artificial stones. Its interior and exterior are equally beautiful with hued woodwork and stone arches.
Chinese name: Mu En Tang (沐恩堂)

Shanghai All Saints
Built in 1925, All Saints Church is a Christian church in a typical 17th Century Church style. It has a rose window and bell tower. It is distinctive by the triangle roof, red bricks and concrete-engraved doorpost. The main hall can hold 500 people and the attached halls can seat a further 1,000.
Chinese name: Zhu Sheng Tang (诸圣堂)

John Allen Memorial Church
Constructed in 1923, John Allen Memorial Church was built in memory of American missionary John Allen. Covering an area of 811 square kilometers, the church faces north. The main building has three floors.
Chinese name: Jing Ling Tang (景灵堂)

Grace Church
Built by missionary Frank Rawlinson in 1910, Grace Church is a Christian Church which holds masses in English and Chinese. Covering an area of 2,200 square meters, it features red bricks.
Chinese name: Huai En Tang (怀恩堂)
