【Happy】Santa Claus is coming to China this Christmas!

 With the countdown to Christmas now on, the Santa Claus Foundation (SCF) of Finland announced Wednesday in Beijing that Santa Claus will travel all the way from his hometown Rovaniemi to meet and greet his young fans for the first time in China on Christmas. "As you know, Santa Claus is famous around the world, but there is just one original Santa Claus. Normally he is living in the beautiful Finnish Lapland within the Arctic Circle, but now he is here with us, building cultural bridges between Finland and China," said Stefan Wallin, Finland's minister for culture and sports. As the official body representing Santa Claus, SCF will accompany Santa Claus to take part in activities at 15 shopping centers in 11 cities in China, including Shanghai and Guangzhou, as well as some second and third tier cities such as Yichang and Hohhot. Showing authentic Finnish culture in a true Christmas atmosphere, Santa will bring laughter and happiness and spread Christmas joy. "Santa Claus Foundation and Santa Claus share the same values and principles, good will, caring and sharing," said Jaakko Lehtonen, SCF chairman. According to SCF, there are only 50 Santa Clauses registered in Finland and all must undergo four years of training before taking the position of Santa Claus in Santa Claus Village in the Arctic Circle. Santa's job is to receive and greet visitors from all over the world and read letters sent by children from across the world. |
