recognition strategies for disease
biomarkers, which may be discovered at
the genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic
or metabolomic levels. In the clinic,
informative biomarkers may be used in
many ways13, including as preclinical
diagnostic biomarkers for presymptomatic
detection, prognostic biomarkers,
which forecast disease progression, and
theragnostic biomarkers, which suggest
the most appropriate treatment strategy,
such as Her2 in the case of trastuzumab. |
