Today is the Thanksgiving Day.In fact this foreign festival is known for its foods made of maize, nampkin and turkey, not just big family gathering.Perhaps I preferred foods as I always felt hungry in my early age. Since I had my own child ,I have become grateful to my parents. Mother tried her best to maintain all the family member not to be starved and chilled.Father cared for the six daughters and one son being educated and well-lived.When I entered the university, they were both over 60.I couldnot help heart-aching on seeing their wrincled face and white hair. Though they were open-minded,they all felt sad at the moment hearing that I got a job in the distant northeast. In 2002,I heard the song Everyone should live a life as he will. Now I am a post graduate, too. Many friends envy me that I am so lucky.Yet I know the endeavoring strenth is from my parents.Brave,hard-working and honest, that is the way for me with no family background. In this fall,I enable to take good care of my child, meanwhile having my parents-in-law live a more comfortable life. That is the better for the thanksgiving day,a heartedly chat, some news about their affection, and so on. [ Last edited by 孟俊英 on 2010-11-25 at 14:21 ] |

三更雨~(金币+5, ESEPI+1):It make me remide an old sentence"子欲养而亲不待",I do not know how to translate into English. So just as what you see, we should go home as often as possible. 2010-12-10 11:35:44

I should say we have talked overly about how extremely we miss our parents and how much we treasure the love they have shone on us. But the only thing that matters to my opinion is to share our feeling with our parents: talk with them, and try to spend as much time as one can to accompany with them. Last year I happened to one guy who told me something very soul-touched. After graduation in 1998, he worked in a local university where he had college education far away from his hometown. Last year he became 36 and had a babygirl of 3 years old while his parents were over 60 but still live in his hometown. He ran into dilemma as to look after parents and raise next generation, since his parents were not used to the city-life and he is the only one male to take the responsiblity to raise his parents. He might have found one solution to solve the 'headache problem' as he described to us. Concerning about the status of us 80's, in the next few years we all run into the 30-year-old line and we all may confront with similar problems. There is no excuse to keep our parents live without the accompany of family. But there is still reality we need to proceed with our career-tracks and keep our babies well-fed. The point is always the same as the song sings 'chang hui jia kan kan'. |
