[交流] 【通告】英国大学包学费博士生招生已有1人参与

Here, we have a "Fee Waiver" scheme for PhD students working on Materials and/or Catalysis areas. This means that overseas students (say from China) can do a PhD here without any fees. But, unlike studentships, they don't get any "salary" (we call it maintainance here because salary needs to pay tax!). I wonder if you have any students asking you about this. Let me know if some ones are interested. Or you may pass this around to your colleagues in China
大学是英国爱丁堡的赫瑞-瓦特大学（Heriot-watt University），英国以外不是很出名，但是绝非野鸡大学。化学类专业还不错，特别是化工专业很强，因此跟公司有密切合作关系，毕业后英国工作机会较多。
我把它发到这里，是另一番考虑：
这个位置没有学费，但也没有奖学金！（一般非欧盟自费申请奖学金的学生需要交学费，所以所剩生活费也不多，甚至奖学金不够交学费）所以生活费要自己出。比较适合公派留学。我不清楚是不是可以同时申请其他奖学金，如果有兴趣可以先和对方联系。

英国爱丁堡是苏格兰首府，靠海，生活费用相对较高，每个月基本开销估计500镑上下（250房租，200吃，剩余其他开销），自费的话要安排好这笔费用。

没说清楚，就是不收学费，也不给奖学金
意思是学费包了，但是没有生活费！
