Abstract: The electrolysis methods of the lead material which was wasted in lead-acid battery production process were studied in the paper. The optimal desulfurization process was determined by orthogonal test. The result show that the ratio between the amount of PbSO4 in lead paste and NaOH was 1:1.5; the temperature of desulfurization  was 50℃; and the solid-liquid ratio was 4∶1; the desulfurization time was 90min。The effects of electrolyte temperature、concentration of NaOH、electrode spacing and current density on electrolysis process were also investigated by the process condition experiment.The optimal parameters for the treatment techniques had been find out, they were: the concentration of NaOH was 3 mol/L; the electric current density was 200 A/cm2;  the temperature of electrolysis was 45℃and the electrode spacing was 3 cm.

The desulfurization procedure was improved by mean of orthogonal test. The corresponding optimal results were obstained with the PbSO4 in lead waste to NaOH mole ratio of 1:1.5, the temperature of  50℃, the solid to liquid ratio of 4∶1 and desulfurization time of 90min. In addition,the influence of electrolyte temperature, concentration of NaOH, electrode spacing and current density on electrolysis process was investigated. The related optimal parameters were 3 mol/L NaOH  the electric current density of 200 A/cm2,  the electrolysis temperature of 45℃and the electrode spacing of 3 cm.
