[交流] 【原创】Recruitment of A PhD Student (Control and Systems Theory)

Research funding (4 years) is available for supporting a student to study a PhD degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Hong Kong, under the supervision of Professor James Lam.

The research interests of the applicants should lie within the following areas: control and filtering of stochastic positive/compartmental systems; systems biology; constrained control; quantum control; dissipativity control

The applicant should possess an excellent Bachelor degree (amongst the top 10% of the class is preferable) in either Automatic Control or Mathematics. Applicants with a Master degree and relevant research publication(s) will definitely be an advantage. For general entrance requirements, please refer to

The deadline for application is 31 December 2010.

The current basic stipend is HKD 13100 per month.

Candidates with strong academic record are encouraged to apply for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowships and University Postgraduate Fellowships offered by the Research Grants Council and the University of Hong Kong, respectively.

In particular, for candidates applying for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowships, they should demonstrate outstanding academic performance, research ability/potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities.

A Hong Kong PhD Fellowship provides a financial support of HKD 20000 per month, plus a conference and research related travel allowance of HKD 10000 per year for a period up to 3 years. For details, please visit
