The successful candidate is expected to carry out analytical and numerical studies of phase transitions in lattice models exhibiting unconventional order or complex ordering phenomena, and/or participate in the modeling/analysis of molecular processes underlying biological function in the group. Work of more theoretical nature, such as the study of noise effects on the accurate control and regulation of biological processes , is also encouraged. The applicant should have a PhD degree in Physics or a related quantitative field. Previous research experience in statistical physics of phase transitions and nonequilibrium systems, nonlinear dynamics, Monte Carlo simulations, and stochastic dynamics is highly desired. Good communication and writing skills are important in the consideration as well. The initial appointment will be for two years with a possibility of renewal for up to two more years, depending on the research performance of an individual. The monthly salary ranges from approximately HK$ 18,000 ~ HK$ 28,000, depending on qualification. (US$1=HK$7.8) Joint appointment with the newly established Beijing Computational Science Research Center may also be considered upon mutual agreement.
