As the wire diameter decreases from the nanometer to the angstrom (atomic) scale, the surface to volume ratio increases dramatically. In respect of the atomic wires with a diameter of only about one unit cell, almost all the atoms are on the surface, which will significantly enhance the photocatalytic activities. We will first develop chemical synthesis methods for the ultrathin non-metal-doped TiO2 1D nanomaterials, which emphasize the formation and controlled condensation of precursors. Secondly, we will elucidate the effects of size and doping of the ultrathin wires on their photocatalytic properties in the visible region of the electromagnetic radiation. Finally, to improve the stability and reusability of the photocatalysts, we will use silica mesoporous materials or nafion membranes as a support to disperse the ultrathin wire based photocatalysts.

由于导线的直径减小到埃(原子)的范围,比表面积大幅增加。就原子导线而言,其直径只有单位晶格大小,几乎所有的原子都在表面,这将大幅提高其光催化活性。我们将首先开发超薄型非金属掺杂TiO2的一维的纳米材料,这种方法强调前体的形成和控制冷凝。第二,我们将阐明大小和掺杂对超薄导线的电磁辐射在可见光区域的光催化能力的影响。最后,为了提高稳定性和光催化剂重复使用性,我们将用硅介孔材料或全氟磺酸膜作为支撑物,以分散立基于超薄导线的光催化剂。
