Postdoc: postdoctoral position in synthetic biology At Chemical Engineering, University of Minnesota, Field(s): biology, biophysics Application deadline: Dec 31 (Fri), 2010 Submitted: Sep 16, 2010 Contact: Yiannis Kaznessis E-mail: yiannis@umn.edu Address: 421 Washington Ave SE Minneapolis, MN 55455 Job description: Postdoctoral positions are available to work on synthetic biology projects in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. The Chemical Engineering program is ranked number one in the U.S. by the National Research Council. Experience in standard methods of molecular biology and biochemistry is required. Experience in synthetic biology and/or flow cytometry is desirable. Applicants should have or expect to receive a doctoral degree in biological sciences, bioengineering, or other related areas. The objective is to engineer synthetic bacterial communities that produce biodiesel.
