请求把下面的汉语翻译成英语，谢谢。 这个小精灵把守着装有气体的容器内隔板上的一个小孔的闸门，看到左边来的高速运动的分子，就放开闸门让它到右边去，看到右边来了低速运动的分子就打开闸门让它到左边去。假定闸门是完全无摩擦的。于是小精灵无需做功，就可以使高速运动的分子集中到右边，低速运动的分子集中到左边，其结果是左边的气体愈来愈冷，右边的气体愈来愈热，这违反了热力学第二定律，人们把这个小精灵成为麦克斯韦妖。（Maxcell demon） |

| There is such an elf,who guards a gate whit a little hole in a partition of a tin containing gas.When he sees high-speed moleculars from the left side,he will open the gate and let them go to right side.When he sees low-speed moleculars from the right side,he will open the gate and let them go to the left side.Supposing this gate is friciton-free,so the elf can make the high-speed moleculars assemble at the right and the low-speed moleculars assemble at the left without doing any work.As a result, the gas in the left becomes colder and colder, the gas in the right becomes hotter and hotter, which is agaist the second law of thermodynamics.People identify this elf as Maxcell demon. |
