LG Electronics’ China R&D Center (Shanghai) is the newest organization in LG Electronics’ global R&D network, and will lead LG into the future by concentrating on technologies in the following fields: Renewable energy, Healthcare, Next generation multimedia applications and home appliances.

Please find our recruiting areas listed below. Our vacancies in Shanghai for new graduate researchers will be valid until September 24, 2010.

1. Inverter Engineer (Entry Level)
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Power Electronics
- Overall Responsibilities: Inverter related research and development including electric field analysis, motor (BLDCM) design, and control logic design and reliability verification

2. Robotics Engineer (Entry Level)
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Control Engineering
- Overall Responsibilities: Research and development of various robotic systems such as surgical robots, silver-care robots and related technologies. Search and develop new application areas for medical robotic systems.

3. Solar Thermal Power Engineer (Entry Level)
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Thermal Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Power Electronics and related fields
- Overall Responsibilities: Research and development of solar thermal power generation system.
4. Wind Turbine Engineer (Entry Level)
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Mechanical Engineering and Power Electronics
- Overall Responsibilities: Research and development of wind turbine and power generator.

5. LED Engineer (Entry Level)
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Material Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering
- Overall Responsibilities:
. Develop new thermal and optical materials for LED lights
. Design and develop LED lighting systems for China market
. Work with LG Korea to research LED lighting standards
. Coordinate the compliance certification process in the product design stage
. Translate official documents into technical notes
. Analyze technical issues related to LED products

6. Water Treatment Engineer (Entry Level)
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering
- Overall Responsibilities: Research and development of Commercial Water Treatment Solution utilizing technologies such as filtration & membrane, organic & chemical treatment, sensing & control s/w, pump/motors & valves, system integration.

7. Smart Grid Engineer (Entry Level)
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering
- Overall Responsibilities: Research & Development of Smart Grid technology in areas of power transmission/distribution, smart appliance products with smart meters, connection to renewable energy sources, network communication.

8. Digital TV SoC Engineer (Entry Level)
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Overall Responsibilities: Research & Development of Digital TV technology
. DTV SoC software platform development: Linux kernel driver, device driver (audio, video, system decoder, OSD, system), audio and video CODEC
. ASIC design and verification: ASIC design (using Verilog, VHDL, C/C++, FPGA), video CODEC and graphic IP design

9. Home Appliance Engineer
- Requirements: PhD or MS new graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Engineering and Computer Science.
- Overall Responsibilities: Noise & Vibration, Heat & Mass Transfer, Structure Design, Thermal Management, Fluid Application, Material & Reliability, Control & Network, and Power Electronics for home appliances
