| I like the apple called red delicious apple. Its name labbled by some supermarket is She Guo(蛇果). I know that this apple has nothing to do with snake. When I was an undergraduate student, the beautiful girl whose English was the best one in my class made a big mistake in translating this fruit into Snake Fruit. This translation confused our English teacher, and she spent whole night looking up this word. Of course, she did not find any clue about this wrong name. At that time the red delicious apple was occasionaly seen in some big supermakets, while now it is very popular. It is an apple which growns in America and its peel is dark red. Its taste is very better than other apples, but its name, I feel, is somehow exaggerated. |
