Colour Index Fourth Edition Online This innovative online publication offers the only authoritative international classification system for dyes and pigments. It contains information on their nomenclature, constitution, main applications and suppliers. The information in this edition is not published in any other part of the Colour Index, and is not otherwise readily available. Published in conjunction with the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists. Colorants are listed according to the widely acclaimed system of Colour Index Generic Names and Colour Index Constitution Numbers. Against each product name is listed the manufacturer, physical form, principal uses and comments supplied by the manufacturer to guide prospective customers. The Fourth Edition Online contains information on all colorant classes, and is available in two parts: •Part 1: Pigments and Solvent Dyes (12 000 individual products under 1700 Colour Index Generic Names) •Part 2: Dyes and Related Products (Acid, Azoic, Basic, Direct, Disperse, Food, Fluorescent Brightener, Mordant, Natural, Reactive, Sulphur and Vat, plus several other classes of minor or historical importance) It has been devised after thorough consultation with the pigment and solvent dye industry so that it includes the sort of information that a user needs to have for his day-to-day work. Main features for the online version: •Instant access on the World Wide Web using standard web browser •Rapid and easy navigation between fingerprint, product and manufacturer screens •Searching of all relevant fields, including manufacturer details, main product applications and other product information Subscribers receive a user name and password that entitles them to unlimited secure online access to the Colour Index for a full 12 month period. The Colour Index database itself is kept constantly up to date with information on new and amended products notified to the Society. Because it lists all products authorised to use the Colour Index Generic Name system, it is the most cost-effective way of keeping abreast of new product developments in the colorant market.
