In what capacity have you interacted with ##? Does (s)he enjoy laboratory work? Does (s)he have "good lab-hands” and does (s)he pick up new techniques readily? Does (s)he take initiative to solving problems and pursue new research directions? Would you consider him/her an independent worker, or someone requiring a certain degree (or a lot) of supervision? How would you describe his/her written and verbal communication skills (incl. command of the English language)? Does (s)he interact well with other members of the laboratory and is (s)he helpful to other lab members? Is (s)he a team player? How would you describe his/her work ethics? How would you rank him/her in comparison to other doctoral graduates at the same level in terms of technical skills and intellectual capacity (top 10%, 20%, 50% or……)?
