Currently, "dink" phenomenon is prevalent in China. The main reason is that young people tend to enjoy themselves than having a kid with them, thus avoiding the responsibilities of raising kids and the trouble of getting divorced when marriage has something wrong. Personally, I don't think much of this practice, because kids are the results of love. Without kids, a person's life is not perfectly fulfiled. Besides, If all the young people adopt this kind of life, human beings will face extinction. however,No matter what reason they choose to be child-free, they usually will face lots of pressure from family and friends. Some people say that they are selfish and sometimes their parents are worried that nobody will "carry the family name". In my opinion, whether to have children or not is completely their own decision. People should respect their personal choice and be happy for them. After all we are living in a society that is becoming more and more open. Diversity is one of most important characteristics for an open society. |
