It was also observed in experiment that as ethanol concentration increases, the polarity of solvent change, which would extract more impurity. It may be seen that 42% ethanol could product the highest extraction yield. The results suggest that 42% ethanol could offer the suitable vapour pressure, viscosity and surface tension of extraction solvent, which are very important physical characteristics of solvent influencing efficiency of sonication activity, for the flavonoids-enriched extract. On the other hand, presence of suitable water in solvent could facilitate increase at the extraction yields since water could helpful to enhance swelling of plant material, which is favourable to increase the contact surface area between the plant matrix and the solvent, resulting in increase of the extraction ratio |
