Senior Research Scientist-PLC,DCS

Hi, every member, a global company in electronics and electrical engineering has an opening for a Senior Research Scientist. Mission -This position asks candidates should be a deep thinker of industry automation with expertise in automation & control technologies, with strong domain know-how and business sense. -He/She manages and contributes to projects in the technical field of automation system. -He/she supports the project acquisition. In case of project management he/she assumes responsibility for a target-oriented use of budget and project members in order to reach all agreed project goals. -Driving innovation, he/she are the technical authority for the field of automation (a module, a technology, or a process) and create technical specifications. -The Senior Research Scientist is familiar with the automation related businesses or relevant business and provides guidance to other employees and help to identify future technical experts. -This person is expected to a leader in future automation department in near future. Dimensions of Function: -Senior Research Scientist focuses on new technologies, international trends, research-oriented. The focus may vary from time to time. Writes client proposals which result in revenue for the department/Global Technology Field. -Report to program manager. Areas of Responsibility / Tasks: -Identify existing innovative automation technologies with business opportunity -Understand business group strategy on automation -Involve in automation research projects, e.g. -SMART and cost innovation; -Investigate potential automation system technologies & standard and development trend; -Deep dive benchmarking and reverse engineering; -Evaluate relevant automation products with KPIs; -Technology assessment and impact analysis; -Support in designing new automation products -Independent acquisition of projects of medium or major complexity -Customer-oriented presentations of projects, customer benefits, suggested methodology and implementation -Report and document results -Independent project management of projects with medium complexity taking into consideration time/cost/quality; customers at management level -Evaluate and review implementation concepts (e.g. at critical milestones) -Troubleshoot in crisis projects -Drive standardization and innovation within own technical field -Coaching of project colleagues -Organize experience exchange with other experts -Creative development of new consulting / solution approaches Competencies: -Masters and be qualified technician with professional experience in HW and SW development of automation system. -Deep understanding of Chinese automation system development life cycle and up-to-date automation technologies -Experienced and good understanding of automation system programming, e.g. for PLC, DCS, HMI and / or MC. -Familiar with or knowledge of related technologies: e.g. bus system, I/O connection, web-based HMI, etc. -Strong 6+ practical R&D and industry engineering working experience in automation field -Knows well status of current technology in the field of automation control system, automation control system both in China and aboard -Rich experience in research of automation PLC, DCS, or HMI system is preferred -Experience in reverse engineering of automation system design is a plus -Several years of experience in project management incl. preparing and giving presentations -Proven (team) leadership experience -Ph.D. major in EE, CS is preferable.
