大作文: Money for postgraduate research is limited. therefore financial support from governments should be only provided for scientific research rather than research for less useful subjects. Do you agree or disagree?” 科学研究很重要(举例说明,如研究space technology, computer science, cloning technology, medical research等等,这些研究可以 greatly improve our modern life, cure diseases, prolong our life span and make greater contributions to our society,科学研究我个人理解应该是关于理科的研究),所以它need money,这是肯定的和必要的。 2. 不过 financial support only be provided for scientific research 也太过份了。less useful subject当然也need a certain amount of money for research,只是一个钱多钱少的问题。 Research into space technology brings many benefits such as improved medical technology. However, some people are of the opinion that the money should be spent on providing for the needs of the poor. Where do you stand on this issue? Space technology is technology that is related to spaceflight(宇宙飞行), satellite and entering space. It is sophisticated (复杂的) and its research involves (涉及) huge investment. That is why many people frown on(不喜欢) such expensive space activities and hold that we’d better spend the money on helping the needy people. However, I can hardly share their views because these people fail to realize the great benefits and changes brought about by space technology. In the past decades, many space technologies have been transferred (转移) to applications(运用,应用) on Earth. Take satellite as an example. Our telecommunication network is dependent on the satellites circling(围绕...旋转) our globe. Without satellites, our mobile phones, Internet, faxes and remote (远程的,遥远的) medical services would become useless. Also with the broadcast satellites, we are able to watch thousands of TV stations. Also with the GPS satellites, we can pinpoint(查找) our location (位置)accurately(精确地). As an added bonus(好处,奖金), weather satellites allow us to direct(指引) our lives because we are no longer in the dark about major meteorological(气候的)/climatic events like hurricanes or cyclones(龙卷风). Besides the above direct benefits, there are also many other different benefits derived(被得到) from space technologies. In fact, these benefits are felt indirectly in our everyday life. For example, the simple microwave device (装置)that we use and enjoy in our kitchens today was derived(源于,得到) from a NASA program to allow astronauts to heat their pre-cooked (预先煮过的) meals. Turning our attention to simple thermo (保温瓶) that we use to keep coffee warm, the cooler boxes taken to our picnic, or the fire-resisting(抗火的) cloth, they were all derived from the insulation(绝缘) techniques of space technology of the 1960s. With the increasingly wide use of space technology, it is predictable (可以预测的)that many new things which are nonexistent(不存在的) before will be developed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 雅思写作table范文 2009年05月12日 This table shows that food consumption of a town changed greatly from 1975 to 1985. In the table, grain is the only food which decreased in its consumption (from 384 tons in 1975 to 288 in 1985). Its consumption decreased by 25%. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sample TextThe chart below shows the changes of costs and sales figures of a company. Write a report to the company management describing the information shown in the chart. The line graph illustrates the changes of costs and sales from 1991 to 1999 of the T&T Company. During the eight years, both costs and sales increased but sales had a bigger growth. Profit margins varied in this period(前两句话是总结本段内容的主题句). In 1991, the profit was about three million. Then sales dropped and costs grew, resulting in a loss of profit between 1992 and 1993. And it was the only period in the 1991-1999 period that no profit was made. Fortunately the trends began to reverse in early 1933 and sales increased to 27 million in early 1995,with about 12.5 million profit.Sales began to fall after that, leading to a period of narrow profit margins in 1997. Costs started to maintain (about 20 million) from mid 1996 but sales began to rise substantially, growing from 22 million to 33 million in 1999, when the profit margin was about 12 millio |
