30% -35% of the black liquor in papermaking(or pulping) is inorganic compounds, mainly containing NaOH, Na2SO4, Na2S, Na2SiO3, Na2CO3, etc.. 65% -70% are organic compounds, mainly containing lignin and residual cellulose, hemicellulose, and so on. Black liquor is always used to prepare activated carbon at home and abroad. However, the preparation of activated carbon is based on the extraction of lignin after acid separation out of black liquor. The preparation process is complex with low yield and high ash content of activated carbon, which is difficult in application. For better resource use and handling of black liquor, black liquor is directly used to prepare activated carbon. In this study, black liquor was directly mixed with the coconut residue, using the alkali black liquor residual as an activator and certain amount of KOH as additional activator, to prepare activated carbon. |
