[交流] Calm down, do not waste your talent

In the past, the people study the master because of the interest in science research. Nowadays, the students select this way for a job. So when they begin their new study phase, they are very confused and perplexed. What can I get from the two or three years study? What is the science research? How should I hell around? What is more, some guys do not even think about the problems.  In my opinion, if we choose this way, whether we do the science research work or not in the future, we should calm down and put our hearts on the study, even for the ones who just want to get a diploma.
     Maybe after finishing our undergraduate, we have already had our own opinions about the moral, emotion and gnosia. But to accumulate the seasonal and logical ability, imagination and creativity and the capacity for independent thinking, we should start from now on. It is normal for a master does not know how to make a work report. So we need to start to learn it as soon as possible. Do not wait to ask ourselves what we have learned when we will finish our master. We should keep a clear mind at the beginning.
      So for a master, the most important thing is not whether you have learned how to research, but the capacities you have cultured. What are the most important ones? There are four aspects. Firstly, the capacity for logical reasoning, including abstract and theoretical reasoning is necessary. That means we must own the Capacity to draw logical inferences from observational and experimental data. Secondly, communication Skills should be exercised. We must have the capacity to retrieve information from published sources, so we can express ourselves in a proper way. Thirdly, we should have our own personality characteristics. In this way, we have our own opinion on the things, so we cannot lose ourselves in the complicate world and always keep a clear mind. Last but not least important, we should get the mechanical skills, which in the development, selection, and use of appropriate scientific, engineering, or artistic apparatus, machines, and models.
      Do not waste the good days which can reinvent yourself. Do what you should do with the full diligence and passion!

Your opinion is quite resonable.
I shall emphasize one element that is very important.That is the sharp intuition. Intuition can create new things from old things we are familiar with. I can give an example. Feynman invented path-integral method and Feynman diagrams.
All of his ideas are very intuitive. I mean they are easy to be understood and they are from our imagination. Usually they are very magic. Ofcourse, as you said, passion and diligence are also indispensable.
Therfore, success = passion + diligence + curiosity + imagination(intuition).
