Authors discussed very extensively the influence on particular alkali ions on the Ce3+ luminescence, however this consideration does not introduce new knowledge on the system apart of the fact that, cine alkali ions since compensate the charge of the Ce3+ ion in the Sr2+ site they causes increase the absorption coefficient of the Ce3+ luminescence centers. In my opinion the lattice distortion related to ion radiuses mismatch between the Sr ion and alkali ions ( in the case of K+ and Rb+ replacing Sr2+) is the secondary effect. The most important seems to be how may alkali ions have been effectively incorporated into lattice. This problem has to be discussed in the revised version in context to data presented in Fig. 7.
