The experiment investigates how hair interact with hematoxylin, a natural dye, pratically and theoretically, which provides theoretical foundation for ingredients of natural dyes and coloring process. The gists are as follows:
1.Relation between adsorption of hematoxylin and concentration under varios pH is determined, including changes in Gibbs free energy, enthalpy and entropy of the interaction between hair and the natural dye under neutral condition. The results shows that during the scope of temperature in experiment, the adsorption of hematoxylin on hair basically agrees with Langmuir adsorption isotherm formula. Both Gibbs free energy change and enthalpy change are less than 0, while entropy change is more than 0.
2.With the help of software of quantum chemistry, investigation of the model of the interaction between hematoxylin and hair reveals that it occurs through the carbonyl group of peptide bond of hair interacts with hematoxylin. The calculation shows that both Gibbs free energy change and enthalpy change are less than 0, while entropy change is more than 0. This accords with the experimental result. |
