| The Scanning Probe Microscopy(SPM) shows us an atomic world. Not only can we observe the arrangement of atoms on the surface of substances, but also can we manipulate the atoms under wishes. This paper reviews the history of SPM, introduces the basic principles and the latest applications, mainly focusing on the morphology, characterization, and nano-fabrication and presenting current research direction on SPM. |

This paper reviews the history of scanning probe microscopy as well as introduces the basic principles and the latest applications of it, mainly focusing on the morphology, characterization, and nano-fabrication and presenting direction of current research on scanning probe microscopy. |
