[交流] My issue

I was thinking too much and being aimless.
    Suddenly I realized that we all have our own businesses,everyone has his own thing to do,working in the government,in a company,selling friuts in the street,working in a supermarket,cleaning the buildings or streets,or being a teacher,being a farmer,whatever.So what do I do?I am here studying material,this is my job.One shall do a thing seriously, carefully and diligently as long as he is doing that thing,and will be still doing it in a future period.
    And this is my business.I have a feeling that I have found my way,however long and difficult it is.This is my issue.The first day when I came here I thought I would learn something else in my spare time and I did not inquire myself to do well in my study,sincerely.Because I never thought I would get stuck in material forever,as it is not a good job for a female according to people's words as well as my own opinion.But now I think I have changed my mind,I should work hard on it,no matter I would stay in this field or not.As I have learned it,I shall be good at it,at least,I shall do my best.And actually,I assume I want to do this job in future,I am tough.
    It is kind of a pleasure to find out where I am and what I am doing,as I am not always aware of it.

Great!
That's kind of maturity of your mind.
But most importantly, try to make yourself interested  in your field.
Interest is the best teacher.
When doing things I am interested in, I am passionate and full of energy and confidence that I could get this job done perfectly.

I think there is a great mystery.
Why is glass transparent?
Usually when the atoms in some material are arranged regularly, that material can let light penetrate and look transparent. This phenomenon often happens in crystals(晶体).
But glass is not a kind of crystal. So, why is it transparent?
Could you please tell me?

Firstly,I should say that some of the crystals are transparent,some are not,such as metal.This also happens in glass,some of the glasses are transparent,some are not.A substance can be opaque or transparent whether it is a crystal or not.Secondly,transmittance depends on refraction,chromatic dispersion and absorption of light.Electron transition happens when some light possessing the corresponding wave length is absored.That's why some glasses have a particular color.When various kinds of electron transition happens and all kinds of light can be absorbed,the thing become opaque.This is one reason of something being opaque.And when many pores and flaws exsist in the glass,refraction and chromatic dispersion may make it opaque. Finally,as the glass is isotropic and,when there are not a lot of pores and flaws, it can be transparent.
