Actualy, it is not a news. But i think it is interesting.
Scientists discover a strange phenomenon: Human hands glow, but fingernails release the most light, according to a recent study that found all parts of the hand emit detectable levels of light. The light is invisible to the naked eye; it is detectable using photon counter. The detector found that fingernails release 60 photons, fingers release 40 and the palms are the dimmest of all, with 20 photons measured.
The discovery indicates that our hands are producing light all of the time. Not only the hands, but also the forehead and bottoms of our feet emit photons.
Many factors affect glowing of hand, such as temperature, mineral oil, and oxygen. They thought that the light is actually the product of a chemical reaction taking place under or in the skin, similar to the reaction that produces light in fireflies.
They found that the appearance of disease and illness affect the strength and pattern of the glow. So if one may find clear correlations to kind and degree (type and severity) of diseases, the light emitted from hand might lead to less-invasive ways of diagnosing patients.

Did LZ refer to the infared radiation? I know everything including humans can radiate infared rays, which could be used for imaging. This technique is quite mature, I think.
