Evanescent wave excitation of whispering gallery mode laser, if pumped along
the fiber’s axis, can obtain a large scope of the whispering gallery mode radiation. This paper focused on the relationship between the radiation length and the pumping energy. A theoretical formula based on radiation theory of WGM fiber laser had been deduced while the experimental results are well explained. Besides, it is a theoretical and experimental basis for further study of the evanescent wave excitation of whispering gallery mode fiber laser when pumped along the fiber’s axis. |
