It is a good topic, especially for me, a boy missing the childhood. I want born in a country, so I like everything in the countryside. I like the uneven little roads, leading to everywhere you want to go. I like the water in the river, which you can drink when you are thirsty. I like the endless fields, which are full of plants, some of which are eatable, and animals, including various insects, frogs and horrible snakes( I fear them). I like the mountains, on which lives man trees and animals, and wind. You hardly imagine, the wind from the endless pinetrees is so cool, especially in the hot Summer. In fact, I hate many things from civilization or citinization, including wide roads, noisy tranffic, tap water, and electric equipments. They are so noisy, and so convenient. I like working hard, and do everything by myself. When I was young, we drank water which our father took from the well, not by turning the tap. We ate dumplings which were made of wheat from our own fields. I lost much fun as I came to study in the city. The most upset thing is the road lamps, which make night bright as white day. I can't see the stars. I like darkness. I still miss the oil lamp. Its fire is so small, like a bean. But its deam light is very warm. I like the oil lamp as a moth. Sign~ no matter how I miss the country life, it has gone forever. Our home is also changed towards the city. Gosh, is that developed? I think it is degenerating. Anyway, I have a good childhood, which is my only comfort. Best wishes for whoever likes country life!  |

What impressed me most as a kid is that I jumped into the icy river on a cold winter day.But Mom beated me badly first instead of taking me to see the doctor after pulling me from the river. [ Last edited by sunyun-06 on 2010-5-16 at 21:11 ] |
