【Diary】Travelogue 2- Vistiing the Luxembourg Pavilion. 已有3人参与

I was almost astonished when watching such a grand and marvelous Expo park and never-ending flows of visitors. As investigated on the Internet before we started the tour, we rushed out to search the so-called reservation machine by which we could visit the China Pavilion at designated time. But at that time, most of us had lost our way, we even could not point to the East direction. Thanks to the volunteers, we finally got to the position but unfortunately the visiting reservation at that time was unavailable. We tried other reservations but the shortest time we have to wait was over 2 hours. My colleague suggested we immediately join the long queue and meanwhile discuss our next step for saving precious time. As we had almost no choice, we started our first lining for visiting the Luxembourg Pavilion. The loudspeaker constantly tipped us that we would have to queue for at least 2 hours for entry into the pavilion. We have to kill the 2 hours in the sunshine. But such 2 hours on the other hand offered us a chance to carefully judge the appearance of the Luxembourg Pavilion. It shaped like a warship with the rear part as the entrance and the front part raised high towards the sky. All the outer surface of this pavilion are built by steel plate which seemed rusted but actually specially treated. Such an unique appearance carved an unforgettable image in my mind and remained a hard and checkered picture in my memory. Outside the pavilion stands a beautiful golden statue of goddess stretching both her arms to embrace the sky with her head raised upwards, forming an impressive gesture. After 2 hours waiting, we finally got access to the pavilion. Because of the informal exhibition, we ddidnt see any exhibits on the display. Instead, we saw a large-size screen with broad width on which three projectors were casting pictures simultaneously introducing that country’s achievements and scenery. The pavilion is not very large compared to other pavilions such as the UK pavilion and France pavilion situated nearby. But four pierced Chinese characters on the steel wall exposed the essence of this steel structure which read:亦小亦美. To be continued  |
