Travelogue: Preview tells you how to enjoy the World Expo to the fullest—part 1

As the May Day holiday draws closer, the upcoming World Expo (WE) has already taken the whole nation by storm. From April 18 on, there are about a week-long free preview for tour groups to test the capability of the running system of WE. I am one of those eager to experience the magnificence of WE.

The first stop of the two-day itinerary arranged by the travel agency is Suzhou. We spent a whole day on the suburb of Suzhou and visited the Cave just serving as warming-up for the WE. If we are accommodated in Shanghai, we have to pay more.

By about 1 hour drive from Suzhou, we arrived in Shanghai Pudong at around 10 am. I saw hundreds of buses parked or were parking on the large ground with thousands of sightseers organized to groups under the sign flag raised by tour guides waiting for the security check in. Almost all of the tourists carry at least one bag. I think the foods were packed in their bags as we have been suggested to bring along us qualified instant foods before entering the WE park. It is said the food price is very high in the WE park, for example, a bowl of noodle could cost you over 1 hundred yuan. We soon queue in double lines for the security examination. The check seemed very strict that you are not permitted to bring metal gadgets or glass bottles with you. You are required to drink some your water in your plastic bottles to make sure the water is nontoxic and safe. A security guarder scanned every visitor by wielding a portable instrument throughout the whole body of a visitor. It took me about 5 minutes to pass the security gate. OK, from then on, I finally started my own journey to WE.
