欧洲有许多小城市，围绕一个大学而发展， 为了那个大学而存在；反过来，大学以这些市镇为依托，并以后者的名字命名，她们构成了相互依存的关系。这样的城市被称为大学城，例如英国的牛津，剑桥，意大利的帕多瓦，比萨等等。德国大学城也不少，海德堡便是其中最著名的一个。 海德堡建于1389年，不但是德国最早的，在欧洲也堪称老字号。当初，大学只设四个专业，如今，她的学科已经无所不包。 校园占据了几乎整个老城区（新扩建的部分在外），历年修筑的校舍一直保存和使用至今，平添了她那古色古香的风貌。 海德堡大学管理极严，这可以从作为博物馆而保存下来的“大学监狱”得到证明。 从19世纪初到1914年，在大学城奥古斯丁巷里有座“学生监狱”。“狂饮酗酒，饮食无度，佩带武器，品行不端，夜游不归，在街上骑马疾驰……”诸多劣行均为校规所禁，违反者要被短暂地投入这所”监狱“，直到悔过自新。 |

Europe has many small cities, which developes around a university,exists for the University ; in turn, university relying on these towns, and is named by the latter, they constitute a mutual interdependence. This city is known as University City, such as the UK's Oxford, Cambridge, Italy's Padua, Pisa and so on. German university town also has a lots , Heidelberg is one of the most famous one. Heidelberg was built in 1389, not only the oldest in Germany, also called long-established in Europe. At first, the university allowed only four professional, and now, her subjects have been all-encompassing. Campus occupies almost the entire old city (the extension has been out), construction of school buildings over the years has been preserved and is still in use, added the antique look to her. University of Heidelberg are very strict management, it can be proved by the "University of prison"preserved as a museum . From the early 19th century to 1914, there is a "student jail in University City Augustine alley ."
