Tell you the truth, I was prevously pretty bad at English, (neither now ^_^). English was one of my nightmare in my high-school times. I just got 99/150 points in my college entrance exam. It's safe to say I didn't learn much about english before my life in university. 9 years later, I am sitting in department of physics of Curitn University in Australia typing these words to you. what happend in my uni time? First year I was still indulged in calculus and physics. Not until I fail CET4 at awesome score "47/100" did I know it's time to learn english... To pass my headack CET-4, I spend nearly every morining of more than 1 yr on vocabulary....just get up early and have 1 hr vocabulary time...join in a private CET-4 class outside school on every saturday and sunday...put an earplug of VOA standard news in my leisure time (tough, my roommate said I am masochistic)...all of these because I hate that awesome score "47/100"..... English is a pretty missish beauty.....you won't see the effect of your hard work for the first few months....but the more you learn, the more you understand about it, the more you love it....I witnessed this progress during my following years, passing CET-4, CET-6, GET (for graduates) and TOEFL ibt (92/120 not a good mark) and IELTS 6.5 (just passing score to got a schlarship to pursue my PhD in uni oversea).... When you find yourself in foreign country, you are foreigner! I still find my english expression is not as fluent as those who already spend years here, even though they are younger than me, not mention locals. This is really another stage of English learning which I am currently enjoying. The last few sentences I am typing here is just remindering us there is no end of English learning....but we will definitely enjoy ourself on the way to english success...
