It might sound a little overqualified to let a PhD join the ball of high school education, but this is a real world. That's how we do things. Even in the U.S., when a PhD cant see any possibility of getting a permanent position offered by a college or a research insititute, he might think of his future and make decisions, considering of becoming a high school teacher is sure one option, perhaps not a bad one. If the situation comes to a Chinese or Hindu PhD, that's even understandable. One of my friends told me about his dilemma of not becoming a high school teacher back in U.S., is that he doesnt speak teenager language besides his wife's lack of language fluency and her being already working for a demestic university. One may recall that in the well-known series Lost, Linus being a doctor of history, he still merely got a job in a high school. [ Last edited by resonant on 2010-4-14 at 23:23 ] |

About twenty years ago, many government officer resigned and did business, some of them achieve great success with the good opportunity, others fail. Now millions of college students including master and doctor eager to get the government position for gold bowl. Why? What makes it different? It's the different situation of the era. It's very normal that a doctor want to be a middle school teacher. Because we are in the era with so many talents but so little jobs. What we need to do is to adapt to the environment, so that we can survive and realize our dreams. Not everyone can be a teacher! |
