【Leisure chat】I am not happy, what can I do?

As I said, I am not happy these days, because PhD study torture me so much. In the five star univeristy of Austalia, criteria for justificating the progress of international student is not humane at all. Comparing with other local student, I am not cofident about my English level, but I am very confident about the progress that I have made for my project. Although I agree that the progress in the project is just one part of my research, it is hardly to ask a international student to write similar well as local students. I agree that writing is important and good writing skill can make my research easier. The truth is that no people was born with native tongue. No body! I have improved my writing a lot with the help of the friends from local. Sometimes, I am very frustrated when I write something lousy. Writing nicely, logically and interestingly is my major task of my study as the moment. Hope someone can help me! Deeply appreciated! |

Yesterday, I made a mistake. Things happened like this. I wrote a e-mail letter to an American expert, who is in contact with our lab. But what I wrote was misunderstanding and made things difficult for the expert. I felt guilty. I really appreciate what you cited "The truth is that no people was born with native tongue". May we can work more hard and develop our writing skills. Believe that we can succeed one day. |

When you feel frustrated, calm down and take a break. Don't take so much burden on yourself. It is not a big deal. When you feel better, come on and insist on it. Don't give up. Do the best you can. Then you'll not regret one day.  |
