It’s a real hassle to portray the heartthrob LMC, a chap of great attainments of ancient poems of China, a buddy of wacky sense of humor, a guy full of sympathy and compassion, a fellow running a juicy private boutique. It seems not quite appropriate for me to do the trick of drawing a vivid picture of LMC for readers as till now I have yet met him even though he has successfully carved a long-lasting impression in my mind via his so many works of art and literature. However, there is a will, there is a way, let me try to piece together dribs and drabs related to LMC that are betrayed here and there in his creation and present all of you the living legend as close to his true character as possible.

Let’s start with a trip to his homepage. Exactly echoing to the old saying “The house shows the owner”, a heavy savor of traditional Chinese culture featured the ink-and-wash painting as the banner and the column lingered his house. On the left part just beneath the main banner, a horizontal inscribed board reads: Lan Yan Ge （蓝烟阁，Blue Mist Pavilion）. Right next to the board writes his motto: 挥一挥蓝袖，不带走一片云彩（wave gently the blue sleeve, without carrying away even a piece of the colorful cloud.）. Going on moving your sights to the middle part of the page, you’ll see the list of all the categories of his blogs which covers such an expansive view from verse to poem, from couplet to prose, from play to novel and so on. All the categories are titled “to pursue something”, for example, his poem category is oriented to pursue the vigor and tune while his prose is aimed at naturalism. If all his artworks added, the number has surpassed several hundreds, indicating he is a very hard-working and productive writer.

LMC started to attract my eyesight after he premiered his comedy short play in the 2008 Original Poem of Recital Party sponsored by Yangzhou Evening Post Blogs. Based mainly on the rave reviews and comments by other bloggers, I could be able to figure out who is the so-called Yangzhou Talent and motivated to retrieve his previous works in an attempt to better understand such a witty pen.

The most attracting nature of LMC should be his well-nurtured capability of traditional Chinese poem which has turned out to be quite unfamiliar with most of today’s youths. Love me, love my dog. A curiosity for his real name, his job and even his family members and hobby derived from his exquisite poems has driven me to baidu all information about him. Such kind of flesh search in deed satisfied my requests. Now I know his real name is Mao Chuan，descendant of former Yangzhou local opera artist. No matter he enjoys advantage over his peers on traditional Chinese education.

LMC shows us a quite fashionable young man’s appearance, however, in his inner retreat resides the traditional Chinese cultural essence, say, Doctrine of the Mean. He knows well about the balance theory in social community. He never interferes into other’s quarrels or arguments and always plays a moderator’s role to appease such kind of virtual angers. Surely, that helps his time-honored reputation. LMC is nice but that does not mean anyhow that he always sits on two chairs and sacrifices his own criteria of certain issue. In case he should express his own stance, he usually adopts a way based on facts rather words. He would explain his viewpoints in detail by quoting lots of codes and norms to support his speculation. His opponents either falls into silence or be won over.

LMC is not a staid egghead, rather, he is of extreme sense of humor. In his category 忽悠，you couldn’t help laughing when reading his witty stories. I bet if he were offered a chance to perform together with Master 赵本山，he would have been a media hit.

In the virtual space, LMC has brought us lots of fun and enjoyment. More importantly, his literature works are of high quality and contribute to the cultural orientation of this website.

Looking forward to his more and more top-notch artworks.
