【Diary】To keep our body in good shape

今天很冷清啊，只有一个新开贴，我贴个旧文，凑热闹啊，呵呵 To keep our body in good shape Phyweiw Yao Ming and his Chinese basketball teammates have seen Premier Wen’s prompt layup show when Wen visited some Chinese Olympic players in the gymnasium. With the photos online, we can hardly believe Wen has been in his 60s. Whit T-shirt, black trousers and even wearing a pair of leather shoes, Wen skillfully jumped and raised the basketball upper his head for shooting. This picture was snapped professionally, I have to say, showcasing the state leader’s vigorous side and active support for the Olympic Games. A shoot speaks volume about his manner. Let us scroll down to previous pages when the high officials, especially state leaders often impressed the public with their big-bellied waist (usually dubbed as Corruption Stomach) and staggering paces. Such kind of appearance actually ruined the governmental image to some extent. The Chinese people do have their own criteria for judging an official. In history, Zhuge Liang (诸葛亮) built up the picture for an official devoting himself to the country and the people: bending himself to the cause and exerting himself to the utmost. Physically, such clean and honest officials should be in a model shape of medium-sized waist, a little hunchback ( echoing to the industrious and earnest serving manner) and worrying face (corresponding to the mentality of deep concern about the state and the people.). Over the past decades, I don’t have the impression that our state leaders are keen in sports, let alone certain sports shows like Wen did. Late leader Deng Xiaoping is an exception, he had been used to take cold bath and swimming. But all remained a distant memory. Those prompted officials after the opening up are all busy working, far from physically training. But things are changing recently. President Hu played table tennis when visiting Japan and Premier Wen showed his basketball attainment. Hopefully, it is a good start. |
