Self-loathing or self-esteemed, it depends phyweiw People having different natures and characters, diversified tastes and interests, contribute in part to the multi-dimensions in the global village. Black coffee, for example, might serve you best but could not be the very cup of tea for another one; outgoing personality does well in making friends in social activities while introverted manner gets a point in retreat. The ramified world itself was created as it is. Take it or leave it. But the world does exhibit its variety in such a funny way that it tolerates the odd chaps who unilaterally arrogate the would-be superiority to themselves. They might have achieved something but they must have forgotten something more important. They treat the viewpoints at odds with theirs as heresy. They are so easily prone to attack others in the face of alleged affront which in fact are nothing more than considered arguments and debates. In the name of counterattack, they attack; under the guise of integrity, they vilify; they make use of possible lingual holes to unscrupulously pour ridicule; they deliberately utilize the public mood to serve their ulterior intentions; all in all, they leave no stone unturned to justify their expert-type identities and never allow any kinds of challenges. They try every mean to wrap them in the mantle of lofty thoughts and highbrow pursuits. There is no time for them to forget trumpeting the overwhelming victory against their debaters. By doing so, they seemingly do the trick of knocking the rivals down to the ground and stepping on. They always keep squabbling about to the last minute until the opponent sighs. They are extremely enjoyed the null response from their opposites, no matter where the silence comes from and what the silence means. But to their extreme dismay, the earth holds not only such tough guys but also Devil’s advocates. And the incessant solos are bound to be boring though it is swansongs. How about tasting different foods and experiencing exotic sentiments to get a life? Let’s get to the point. In the virtue cyberspace, every blogger is registered with his or her real name. Just like how to deal with the interpersonal relationship in one’s work unit, mutual respect and sincerely hearing other’s sayings, no matter for or against yours, should set the basic tone and direction for writers residing here. Suppose you have an arguable neighbor, are you willing to quarrel with him or her everyday and with an escalating style? Are you willing to fuel such useless reprimands to fight against? Are you willing to justify your opinion by flexing your muscles? In real life, no one in sanity could act like such. But when scaling down the real community to the virtual society, shouldn’t the folks online behave in a restraint and self-disciplined manner? Can we abandon the basic morality and randomly cross to the other side of the more red line? Definitely not! How come a viewpoint difference is escalated to such a wordy warfare? Is there anyone that laughs last and laughs best? After the jarring melodrama dust settled, can those involved figure out a win-win solution for future arguments? It depends and let’s wait and see. |
