适量的RE能细化晶粒的原因是因为稀土阳离子能提高阴极极化,有效提高电流效率,以及稀土阳离子的特性吸附,易于吸附在晶体生长的活性点上,可以有效抑制晶粒生长,从而使铜箔晶粒细化;但当RE超过一定量时,由于稀土阳离子能大大提高金属的沉积速度,使得晶粒的长大速度过快,从而使RE的特性吸附作用减弱,以致失去细化效果。

The reason why an appropriate amount of RE can refine the grain is that the rare-earth cations can improve the cathode polarization,improve the current efficiency effectively, as well as the characteristics of rare-earth cation adsorption, and can be easily adsorbed on the crystal growth point, which can  inhibit grain growth effectively, thereby refining copper grain; But when RE is more than a certain amount,rare-earth metal cations can greatly increase the deposition rate, making the grain grew up too fast, so that the adsorption characteristics of RE will be weakened, resulting in loss of refinement effect.
