| In optimizing the concentration of a reaction ,achieving homogeneous reaction conditions is often a goal. Very few processes are solutions throughout the reaction. A slurry may become a solution as the reaction progresses and the product dissolves in the solvent. Dissolution of the product may help dissolve the starting materials. Alternatively a product may crystallize as it is formed in the reaction, allowing for a very convenient isolation. Reaction concentrations may be optimized in order to facilitate the isolation of pure product in good yield. |
