请问各位虫友，这是主编把我的稿子发给我文章所属的那个板块的编辑给我的回信，是什么意思？若按他的要求修改，是否就会接收我的文章了？还是他还会在指派审稿人再审？ Dear Colleague, Your paper has been reviewed and here is the report, based on which I made my decision: revision required. This paper reports the cloning of a kinase encoding gene from G. max. The title is misleading as this suggest that the protein was isolated, which is not the case. The expression in the plant parts under different conditions is reported, as well as the overexpression in yeast and studies on the resistance of the transgenic yeast against various stress factors. Most is confirming previously reported charactreistics of this gene in other plants. Considering that a quite extensive study was made of expression, I think it still can be accepted for the journal, though some changes are recommended: - change title to make clear that it concerns the gene - you may say that the gene (and thus thye enzyme) seems to play a role in resistance against various stress factors, but leave out the subjective judgement "important" in the abstract., probably hundreds of genes are upregulated by the mentioned forms of stress. - in the last paragraph of the paper it is said that you have shown the beneficial effect of the gene in G. max, but such evidence is not shown in the paper, only for the yeast. There is no evidence that this gene itself has a benificial activity, only that is correlated with the stress response. So either add such evidence (overexpression in the plant?), or modify your last paragraph by sticking to the facts you have observed. If you decide to make the required revision you can send the revised manuscript directly to me, together with a note explaining all changes made.
