| The crack-free and transparent Zto crystal with 4-6 mm in diameter and 30mm in length has been grown along the a-axis direction by the floating zone technique. The most important factor for achieve high-quality crystals is a stable liquid zone. Achieving a stable liquid zone requires dense, homogeneous, precisely aligned feed and support rods. A suitable condition for growth high-quality Zto single crystals have been successful achieved in this work. The Zto crystal was obtained. The grown Zto crystal was characterized by X-ray diffraction and room temperature Raman spectrum. D8 discover X-ray diffractometer with GADDS is employed to measure the orientation of the Zto crystal. All these results show that large size, high-quality Zto single crystal grown along the a-axis direction was successful grown by the optical floating zone method. |
