本文研究一种新的芒硝制碱方法——芒硝生物制碱法,硫酸盐还原菌在厌氧条件下将硫酸根还原为硫化氢,溶液中通入二氧化碳置换出硫化氢之后生成碳酸钠。早在几千年前的埃及Wadi Naturn沉积岩中便向人们揭示了芒硝生物制碱的可能性,每年从这些湖里结晶和采收的粗倍半碱(天然碱的一种)与进水带入并产生还原的硫酸盐的量大致相当。Kaufman 等人将烟气脱硫石膏与硫酸盐还原菌混合培养,石膏被还原成硫化氢,硫化氢再与硫酸铁反应得到元素硫。向溶液中通入二氧化碳即沉淀出碳酸钙,循环利用。石膏的分解速率可达到每天每立方米6.6 千克,硫酸根可以百分之百转化,元素硫回收率75-100%。同样的原理,如果将石膏更换为芒硝,可得到硫和碳酸钠溶液,进一步加工可得纯碱。欧盟委员会也曾专项支持微生物分解石膏生产硫磺的研究,Hulshoff Pol 等报导,荷兰的Budelco 炼锌厂已经运行了500m3的气升式生化反应器,用于还原硫酸锌为硫化锌,后者返回冶炼炉。

This paper investigated a novel process of producing soda ash from sodium sulfate------biological process of soda ash from sodium sulfate. Sulfate-reducing bacteria reduce the sulfate into hydrogen sulfide under anaerobic condition. Carbon dioxide passes through the solution and replaces hydrogen sulfide and then sodium carbonate is resulted.

早在几千年前的埃及Wadi Naturn沉积岩中便向人们揭示了芒硝生物制碱的可能性,每年从这些湖里结晶和采收的粗倍半碱(天然碱的一种)与进水带入并产生还原的硫酸盐的量大致相当。
Early thousands years ago, the probability of biological process of soda ash from sodium sulfate was revealed in Egyptian Wadi Naturn sediments. Every year the crude sesquioxide alkali (one of the natural alkali) crystallized and collected from the lakes was roughly the amount of the sulphate brought and reduced by the incoming river water.

Kaufman 等人将烟气脱硫石膏与硫酸盐还原菌混合培养,石膏被还原成硫化氢,硫化氢再与硫酸铁反应得到元素硫。
Kaufman et al mixed and cultivated the flue gas desulfurization gypsum and sulphate. The gypsum was reduced to be hydrogen sulfide and the sulphur was obtained by the reaction between hydrogen sulfide and iron sulfate.

向溶液中通入二氧化碳即沉淀出碳酸钙,循环利用。
Carbon dioxide was led into the solution and the calcium carbonate was deposited which could be cyclically used.

石膏的分解速率可达到每天每立方米6.6 千克,硫酸根可以百分之百转化,元素硫回收率75-100%。
The decomposition rate of gypsum can be 6.6 kg/cm3 per day and sulphate can be 100 % transformed. The recycle rate of sulphur was about 75-100%。

同样的原理,如果将石膏更换为芒硝,可得到硫和碳酸钠溶液,进一步加工可得纯碱。
Similarly, if the gypsum is replaced by sodium sulfate, the sulphur and sodium carbonate solution can be obtained. And the soda can be produced by further processing.


欧盟委员会也曾专项支持微生物分解石膏生产硫磺的研究,Hulshoff Pol 等报导,荷兰的Budelco 炼锌厂已经运行了500m3的气升式生化反应器,用于还原硫酸锌为硫化锌,后者返回冶炼炉。
EU commission also specially financed the research of the sulphur production by the microbe-decomposed gypsum. Hulshoff Pol et al reported that Budelco zinc-refining factory in Holland had run the 500 cm3 airlift bioreactor which was used to reduce zinc sulfate into zinc sulfide. The zinc sulfide was returned into the smelting furnace.
