The Group of Nanomaterials and Microsystems from the Physics Department of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will host the 10th IWNCS from the 21th to the 23th of April 2010 in the Casa Convalescencia .
As in previous years, the workshop will focus on recent advances and emerging technologies in non-crystalline and nanostructured materials. Outstanding Plenary Lecture speakers have been selected to present the state of the art of non-crystalline solids and nanostructured materials. Also, a selected group of internationally renowned Keynote speakers have been selected to present recent progress in the field. Besides, in order to promote and disseminate very hot topic results, several Keynote Lectures will be selected from the most interesting received abstracts, giving a special attention to young researchers.

The scientific program will consist of Plenary and Keynote Lectures, contributed oral presentations and contributions in poster sessions.  A workshop timetable will be available shortly.

We have reached an agreement with Physica Status Solidi to publish the Proceedings of the Conference in Physica Status Solidi C. However, a large number of contributions (over 50) will be accommodated in PSS (A) and/or PSS (B) (both with an ISI impact around 1.2). Final publication is expected early in 2011.

BMG VIII, will be held in Hong Kong, tentatively at the last week of May, 2011. The conference will be hosted by Professor Jian Lu, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
