Abstract This paper proposes and rigorously demonstrates that the fundamental origin of the universe is light. Light, as a pure energy state with zero rest mass, no volume, and non-materiality, constitutes the underlying existence of all matter and energy in the universe. Supported by extensive empirical evidence, this paper focuses on the reversible transformation cycle between light and matter: high-energy photons can be confined under extreme conditions to form electrons, protons, and neutrons, which further constitute all things; ordinary light such as sunlight absorbed by matter can also be directly converted into components of matter; photon emission during atomic transitions accompanied by mass reduction is a universal microscopic phenomenon of matter transforming into light; matter disintegrates completely and returns to high-energy photons in extreme environments such as black holes; after traveling tens of thousands of light-years, black hole jets convert light back into matter particles, completing a cosmic-scale cycle. Combining experimental evidence from CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) and RHIC (Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, Brookhaven National Laboratory), astronomical observations, and natural phenomena, this paper constructs a concise, unified, and testable theory of cosmic origin. The theory relies solely on light, electrons, protons, and neutrons as basic units without introducing additional complex particles, forming a complete closed-loop framework. What are the essences of matter and energy? Is there a unified underlying existence? From philosophical inquiries to scientific experiments, numerous models have been proposed, but most are complex, fragmented, and lack a unified, concise, and empirically supported theory of origin. Based on triple evidence from experiments, observations, and natural phenomena, this paper draws a clear conclusion: the fundamental origin of the universe is light. Light is not a secondary form of energy but the most primitive and fundamental existence of the universe. All matter is confined light, and all energy is free light. The reversible transformation between light and matter forms the core law governing cosmic operation. The system of this theory is extremely simple: it only includes light, electrons, protons, and neutrons without redundant concepts, and all content is supported by evidence, understandable, testable, and repeatable. 1.1 Research Nature of This Paper This paper belongs to theoretical comprehensive deduction and unified framework construction. All experimental evidence and observational data cited are from authoritative published results, including hadron collision experiments at CERN and RHIC, atomic energy level transition experiments, and astronomical observations of black holes and black hole jets. The core contribution of this paper is not new experimental detection or data acquisition, but the first unification of existing, scattered experimental and observational results into a self-consistent, concise, and unified theoretical framework centered on light as the cosmic origin, reversible light-matter transformation, and cosmic cyclic operation. It achieves a unified explanation of cosmic origin, matter composition, energy conversion, and celestial motion, providing a novel theoretical system for understanding the underlying laws of the universe.
