Postdoctoral Research Fellow Recruitment University of Macau | FDCT Postdoctoral Talent Funding Scheme 2026 (2nd Batch) Supervisor: Prof. Zhen Yuan Institution: University of Macau Position: Postdoctoral Research Fellow Funding Scheme: FDCT Funding Scheme for Technology Research and Development Talent – Postdoctoral Category (2026, 2nd Batch) Prof. Zhen Yuan at the University of Macau is seeking highly motivated and talented researchers to join his research team as Postdoctoral Research Fellows under the 2026 2nd Batch of the FDCT Funding Scheme for Technology Research and Development Talent – Postdoctoral Category. Research Areas and Interests Prof. Yuan's research focuses on biomedical science, nanomedicine, drug delivery, and translational biomedical research, with particular interests in the development of innovative technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of human diseases. The research team is broadly interested in: • Nanomedicine and advanced drug delivery systems • Targeted delivery of therapeutic agents and biomolecules • Nanomaterials for biomedical applications • Drug delivery across biological barriers and to specific tissues/cells • Disease-targeted therapeutic strategies • Mechanisms of nanomaterial–biological interactions • Translational research and biomedical technology development The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop an independent research project within the team's broader research program, with an emphasis on innovative biomedical technologies, therapeutic delivery, and translational applications. Candidates with interdisciplinary backgrounds in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, nanotechnology, molecular biology, bioengineering, neuroscience, or related fields are particularly welcome. Candidate Profile We welcome applications from highly motivated researchers who: • Hold a PhD degree in a relevant discipline; • Have a strong background in biomedical or pharmaceutical research; • Possess experience in molecular biology, cell biology, animal models, nanomedicine, drug delivery, biomaterials, or related areas; • Have demonstrated research productivity through peer-reviewed publications and/or other research achievements; • Are capable of conducting independent research and developing innovative research ideas; • Have strong communication and scientific writing skills. Candidates with experience in nanoparticle engineering, targeted drug delivery, RNA/drug delivery, biomaterials, disease models, or translational biomedical research are especially encouraged to apply. Priority for Macao Residents Priority will be given to candidates holding a Macao Resident Identity Card, in accordance with the eligibility requirements of the FDCT Postdoctoral Talent Funding Scheme. According to the current FDCT requirements, eligible applicants should: 1. Hold a Macao Resident Identity Card; 2. Have obtained a doctoral degree from a higher education institution recognized by the relevant authorities within the past five years (24 September 2021 – 23 September 2026); 3. Possess experience in academic research or achievements related to the commercialization of scientific and technological research results. The FDCT Postdoctoral Talent Funding Scheme provides a maximum monthly allowance of MOP 30,000, for a funding period of up to 24 months, subject to FDCT approval and the applicable funding regulations. Application Interested candidates are invited to submit: • Curriculum Vitae (CV); • Publication list; • Brief statement of research interests; • A short research proposal or description of proposed research directions; • Copies of doctoral degree certificate and relevant academic qualifications. Application deadline: As soon as possible, preferably before 14 October 2026, to allow sufficient time for preparation of the FDCT application and employment documents. The expected reporting date at the University of Macau is in Q1 2027, subject to the FDCT approval process.
