Ñо¿¼ò½éResearch Overview:
The Yang Lab is focused on studying the molecular mechanisms of cellular stress response pathways. We use an interdisciplinary approach, integrating structural biology (Cryo-EM), computational biology (de novo protein design) biochemistry (protein characterization), and cell biology (fluorescent imaging). Our goal is to modulate those stress response pathways in physiological and pathological conditions, potentially leading to the development of novel therapeutics for related human diseases, including neurodegeneration, metabolic disorders, and cancer. In addition, we have established close collaborations with experts in disease-relevant mouse models to complement our mechanistic findings.

ÆÚÍûµÄºòÑ¡ÈËExpected Candidates:
We are seeking highly motivated, talented researchers to join our interdisciplinary research team. Our laboratory integrates structural biology, membrane protein biophysics, protein engineering, computational protein design, and drug discovery to address challenging questions in biology and develop innovative therapeutic strategies.
We welcome candidates with strong training and research experience in one or more of the following areas:

•        Cryo-Electron Microscopy
Experience with cryo-EM sample preparation, grid optimization, data collection, image processing, and structural analysis.
•        Membrane Protein Biology
Experience in the expression, purification, stabilization, and biochemical/biophysical characterization of membrane proteins.
•        Cell Culture and Cellular Biology
Hands on experience with mammalian cell culture, transfection, protein expression, cellular assays, or fluorescence-base assays.
•        Insect Cell Expression
Experience with insect cell culture and recombinant protein expression, particularly using the baculovirus expression system.
•        X-ray Crystallography
Experience with protein crystallization, crystal optimization, C-ray diffraction data collection, structure determination, refinement, and model building.
