[交流] Crystals(IF=2.9)- Special Issue invatation- Functional Materials

Sustainable Functional Materials for Environmental Remediation and Heterogeneous Catalysis

In this context, sustainable functional materials—such as metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), carbon-based composites, and metal-doped nanostructures—have emerged as promising platforms due to their tunable structures, high surface areas, and versatile chemical functionalities.
We invite researchers to contribute original papers and reviews covering, but not limited to, the following themes:
•        Design, synthesis, and functionalization of sustainable porous materials (e.g., MOFs, COFs, porous carbons, and hybrid nanomaterials)
•        Advanced adsorbents and membranes for the removal of emerging contaminants, including PFAS, pharmaceuticals, dyes, and heavy metals
•        Heterogeneous catalytic systems for green chemical transformations and environmental detoxification
•        Photocatalysis and electrocatalysis for energy conversion and pollutant degradation
•        Structure–property–performance relationships in functional materials for environmental applications
•        Interfacial reaction mechanisms and molecular-level understanding of adsorption and catalysis processes
•        Regeneration, stability, and scalability of functional materials under realistic environmental conditions
•        Integration of functional materials into water treatment and environmental engineering systems
•        Carbon-neutral and energy-efficient processes enabled by advanced catalytic materials
•        Life-cycle assessment and sustainability evaluation of functional materials and remediation technologies
