Ph.D. Position in Computational Polymer Science

Ph.D. Position with Graduate Assistantship in Computational Polymer Science / Organic Chemistry at the University of Vermont (USA) The University of Vermont (UVM) invites applications for a fully funded Ph.D. position to work with Professor Jihong A. Ma. The position focuses on cutting-edge research in computational organic chemistry and polymer science, with an emphasis on developing fundamental, predictive understanding of structure–property relationships in organic molecules and polymeric materials. We welcome applicants with undergraduate or graduate degrees in chemistry, materials science, physics, engineering, or related fields. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in molecular-level phenomena governing polymer chemistry and dynamics. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas: first-principles (quantum chemical) calculations, molecular dynamics simulations, coarse-grained modeling, and high-performance computing. The anticipated start date is August 31, 2026, with flexibility to begin as late as January 18, 2027. Interested applicants should contact Professor Jihong A.
