[交流] 美国University of Tennessee ~$43,000/yr奖学金 cellulose chemistry and MOFs

The Center for Renewable Carbon at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UTK) has an opening for a graduate research assistant position (phd or ms level), or post-doc, starting August 2026. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Mi Li on the development of cellulose/metal-organic frameworks (MOF) functional materials. The overall goal of the project is to couple cellulose and MOFs to fluorescence signaling and catalytic decomposition of guest molecules. Working in Li's group at the center for renewable carbon, the student will be able to access 10 agricultural research and education centers located across the USA, and will also be provided access to the facilities and collaboration opportunities with world-class scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (the largest national lab by size and by annual budget in the US Department of Energy system).

Salary range: $36-38k annual stipend for GRA + potential Herbert college phd fellowship ~$5k/year, plus tuition and insurance coverage

Qualifications:
• Background in wood science, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials/polymer science and engineering, or a related subject.
• highly motivated in research.
• Having research experience in the above fields (MOFs or cellulose chemistry) is favorably desired.
